Events:

Our Events Committee is responsible for organizing engaging and impactful events that raise awareness and inspire action. Marketing:

The Marketing Committee plays a crucial role in spreading awareness about Gauchos Go Green and our sustainability efforts. Water:

The Water Committee is dedicated to addressing water conservation and management in Isla Vista. Gauchos Go Green is committed to supporting Greek life chapter houses in their journey towards achieving green certification by the California Green Business Association (CAGB). We recognize the significant impact that Greek organizations can have on campus sustainability and understand the importance of fostering environmentally responsible practices within these chapter houses.

To support Greek life chapter houses in becoming green-certified, we offer guidance, resources, and assistance throughout the certification process. Our approach involves the following key steps:

1. Awareness and Education: We conduct workshops and informational sessions to raise awareness about the benefits of green certification and the steps involved. These sessions provide an overview of sustainable practices, resource conservation, waste management, energy efficiency, and other criteria necessary for certification.

2. Assessment and Planning: We collaborate with chapter houses to conduct a thorough assessment of their current practices and identify areas for improvement. Our team assists in creating tailored sustainability plans that outline specific actions and initiatives to meet the criteria set by the CAGB.

3. Implementation Support: We provide ongoing support and resources to help chapter houses implement sustainable practices. This includes guidance on energy-efficient lighting, water conservation measures, waste reduction and recycling programs, eco-friendly purchasing policies, and more. We assist in connecting chapter houses with local vendors and suppliers who offer environmentally friendly products and services.

4. Monitoring and Evaluation: We help chapter houses establish monitoring systems to track their progress and ensure compliance with green certification standards. This may involve regular audits, data collection, and reporting to demonstrate ongoing commitment to sustainability.

5. Collaboration and Recognition: We encourage collaboration between Greek life chapter houses, sharing best practices and success stories to inspire and motivate others. We also recognize and celebrate the achievements of chapter houses that successfully obtain green certification, providing them with visibility and acknowledgement for their environmental stewardship efforts.
