Sustainable Skincare!

By Kathleen McElroy

Acne is the worst thing ever. Well, actually it’s not. Using skincare that is not sustainable while trying to treat your acne is the worst thing ever. To avoid this, here is a list of four sustainable skincare companies in preparation to treat your next breakout.

Flawless

Besides having a fabulous company name, Flawless is a vegan and zero waste company with a wide range of products. I find that I tend to have less breakouts when I actually take time to make sure my skin is clean, especially after working out or spending hours in class, and the micellar water from Flawless is perfect for cleansing sensitive skin! With scented flavors like Lavender and Rose, you will smell flawless! Aside from micellar waters, Flawless also sells cleansers, eye masks, and makeup remover.

BeeYouOrganics

BeeYouOrganics is committed to providing products for sensitive skin that are palm oil free, vegan, and zero waste. The organic charcoal soap is perfect for acne prone and sensitive skin, as the activated charcoal serves as a natural cleanser and exfoliant.

EmpireSquid Organics

A family run business dedicated to using all natural and certified organic ingredients, EmpireSquid Organics puts an equal emphasis on creating products that will not pollute your skin, body, and the environment. My favorite product is the EmpireSquid Organics Rosewater Toner, as the refreshing, cooling, and relaxing spray is perfect for my skin after a long day in the sun. There are other toners, like toners by skin type, as well as a variety of other products for any and all skin types and concerns.

Natural Wisdom Organics

Originally created by a mother looking for clean products for her children, Natural Wisdom Organics produces raw, organic skincare products that are free of fillers and harmful ingredients. Aside from the excessive amount of products I layer on my face when I see evil pimples, I prioritize making sure my environment is clean, and that starts with making sure my face cloth is clean. The organic face cloths sold by EmpireSquid Organics are chunky, soft, and made with ethical and sustainable values.

I wish everyone the best of luck on their skincare journey!
